You are Job (The Series, Part II)

“A Battle Called Initiation”

From the beginning of Job’s existence, battle began within the inner kingdom between the higher and lower selves. These battles not only exist as biological, hereditary, psychological and physiological; but also spiritual. According to the mystical Islamic teaching this inner battle is called a “Jihad.” Unlike the battle between that which takes place between opposing religions, this inner battle takes place between two opposing forces, “Maya (illusion)” and the true spirit self, the microcosmic blueprint of GOD (Allah, Elah, Yahweh, Neter Neteru, The All, etc.).Metaphysical Bible Dictionary (Charles Fillmore Reference Library) Job (You) represents the initiate struggling to achieve self realization in the adept chamber of life. As one finds themselves in combat, they must first face the dark residue of fear as Job did in Chapter 3:25-26:

“For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, and what I dread has happened to me. I am not at ease, nor am I quiet; I have no rest for trouble comes.”

This statement validates man’s fear, not knowing that all is illusion despite the “realness” of the situation. Suffering in always temporary as “physical” man has a date of birth and an expiration date; however, the spirit man IS.

As long as Job fought his fear of “loss” and his “illusion of misfortune,” he continued to be tormented. Just as God gives, God also takes away. This is truly understood by the initiate of the Job mysteries because God realization comes when the totality of God is appreciated. Unfortunately, man equates God with “Good,” not knowing within this “God” lies duality - God and Evil. As the Law of Rhythm states: if the pendulum swings to the right, it also must swing to the left.

Today we will end our series on Job with the following passage of the Bible:

Isaiah 45:7 “I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create calamity; I, the Lord, do all these things.”
